Anatomy of the Trunk

The trunk can be divided into three main components:

  • Thoracic Cavity
  • Abdominal Cavity
  • Pelvic Cavity

In Pilates, the trunk is the foundation of all movements. A strong, flexible trunk is essential for:

  • Core Stability¬†
  • Alignment¬†
  • Breath Control
  • Efficient Movement

We will be going more in depth about teaching for deep core stability in the second weekend of the practical workshops.
